Ghost World, LLC Announces Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association as Official Charity of 2007 Conference

Charity auction to be held at the July 20-22 Ghost World Conference, trade show, and symposium at the Wyndham Hotel and Conference Center in Gettysburg.

GETTYSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA -- May 16, 2007 -- Ghost World, LLC announced today that the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association (www.gbpa.org) is the official charity of the 2007 Ghost World Conference being held in Gettysburg July 20-22. The three-day paranormal event will include lectures, workshops, trade show, symposium, and a silent auction with all of the proceeds from that auction going to benefit the GBPA.

“Historic preservation is a subject that is close to many paranormal investigators’ hearts,” said Jeff Belanger, author and one of the founding partners of Ghost World, LLC. “While we work to preserve the legends and personal unexplained accounts from important historic sites like the Gettysburg battlefields, the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association exists to ensure that the land and buildings from these hallowed grounds are around for future generations to understand the significance of what took place here. It’s important work, and Ghost World is happy to help this great cause.”

The purpose of the Ghost World Conference is to bring people together who are interested in the field of paranormal research. Between 300 and 500 attendees from across the United States and Canada are expected to participate in the three-day conference.

“The Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association is pleased that the Ghost World Conference understands the importance of not only preserving history, but giving something back to our community,” said Kathi Schue, president of the GBPA.

Some of the items up for auction at the conference include autographed books, DVDs, local ghost tour tickets, ghost investigation equipment, and much more. The following individuals and organizations have made a donation for this cause: Troy Taylor, Exeter House Books, Charles J. Adams III, John Zaffis, Exspiro Productions, Jeff Belanger, John Sabol, Scott Fowler, Richard Salva, Ursula Bielski, Vince Wilson, and L’Aura Hladik.

About the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association
The GBPA is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded in 1959 as the first public/private partnership at Gettysburg. Over the years, the GBPA played a continuous role in purchasing endangered battlefield land. Such properties, like the Meals farm, Timbers farm, Wolf farm, Taney farm, the Colgrove tract, the Willoughby Run tract, the East Cavalry field tract, and other parcels have been saved from urban development and commercialism. By lectures, publications, seminars, and living history programs, the GBPA is informing the public of our unique American heritage. Their Web site is: www.gbpa.org
